The hallways can hit you with an overwhelming smell of perfumed cleaner that lingers uncomfortably. My room had a musty odor, and carpets visible with stains detracted from the overall feel. The door from the pool area into the hotel doesn't latch correctly, which can be a hassle. Card readers at the entry look like they’ve seen better days, being held together with duct tape. For the price, cleanliness and upkeep just didn't feel up to par.

great spot for exploring richmond's parks and landmarks

staying here made it super easy to visit places like the cold harbor battlefield park, which was just over 6 km away, and the richmond raceway, a quick drive under 6 km, making my city strolls so much more enjoyable. The nearby dining spots are awesome for grabbing a bite after a long day out exploring. this hotel really caters well to the single traveler with its free parking and solid amenities, but I wish the room had been a bit more comfortable to truly relax at the end of the day.
